The EARMA Ethics and Research Integrity Officer Network (ERION) gathered for a ‘first-of-a-kind’ online workshop on Wednesday February 10, 2021.
The main focus of the workshop was the implementation of the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (the ‘ALLEA Code’). The ALLEA Code serves the European research community as a framework for self-regulation across scientific and scholarly disciplines and research settings.
Around 100 colleagues across Europe interacted online during the workshop. In the first part of the programme, the President of the ALLEA Working Group for Science and Ethics addressed the goal and rationale behind the code and included reflections on how the code has been implemented across Europe since its publication, as well as prospects for the future. Several members of the ERION community also presented practices regarding the implementation of the Code, based on their own experiences in their institutions or countries. In the second part of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences in a plenary discussion. The workshop ended with an informal networking coffee session.

The 7thERION meeting will take place online on 4 May 2021. Registration will open in March.
