The European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) is a professional community of Research Managers and Administrators (RMAs) in Europe. EARMAs mission is to enable members to support excellent research, and to promote the profession of RMA. One of our strategic goals is to provide opportunities for our members to develop and enhance their skills at all stages of their careers and we offer an extensive EARMA Training Program.
Our Certificate in Research Management (CRM) is our most comprehensive training program. It has been developed in partnership with the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA‐UK) who provide support services. The certificates are certified by Awards for Training and Higher Education (ATHE) delivered in collaboration with ARMA-UK. After completing five mandatory and two optional units, the students will receive a certificate on EQF level 5 awarded by the British organization Awards for Training and Higher Education, ATHE.
We are now looking for a trainer to take the teaching responsibility for the unit “Gender and Diversity in Research Management”. The trainer will have to develop a teaching plan applying a selection of teaching techniques designed to help the students reach predefined leaning objectives. The trainer should ensure that students are aware of the assessment criteria when delivering the session so that students are able to link this back to their assignment. At present, the Certificate in Research Management has one cohort per year so the Trainer selected will be expected to provide a one-day workshop per year. The service provided also includes post workshop mentoring hours to assist students with queries related to the assignments. Assessment is not part of the training. Special experts will act as assessors to evaluate the students’ assignments.
